Online Programs
At Jefferson, take classes your way – classes that meet your schedule and learning style. In addition to options in course lengths (15-week, 8-week, and 4-week), we offer courses through several delivery types such as online, hybrid, interactive television (ITV) and even at other locations like our Fort Drum extension site.
Online and Hybrid
- Online Classes can be accessed from anywhere you have an Internet connection. While you don’t have
to go to class at a given hour and day, you do have to sign on, do the assignments,
communicate with your classmates and instructors and participate on a regular basis
and there are deadlines. Online classes are not self-paced but allow you the flexibility
to take classes when convenient for you!
You can even earn your degree online.
We also offer online non-credit workshops and seminars. - Hybrid courses combine “face-to-face” classroom instruction with online instruction so you can still
connect in person with your professor and classmates, but spend less time on campus
and have some flexibility to work from wherever you have Internet access.
Whether you take a fully online or hybrid class, you should consider whether you have access to a computer with Internet that meets the minimum requirements and the study habits to be successful such as time management, the ability to meet deadlines and the ability to work independently.
- Jefferson offers a variety of classes at convenient off-campus locations such as Fort Drum, programs in the high schools and classes through interactive television (ITV).
- The ITV program provides college courses to up to four sites using technology similar
to broadcast television, but everyone can talk and be heard and everyone can see everyone
at all the sites. The courses are usually taught by JCC instructors often broadcasting
from JCC.
We offer interactive television (ITV) classes to sites in the high schools and sometimes to extension sites. We also receive courses through ITV from our partner colleges. - For high school students, JCC offers the EDGE and ITV programs. Both programs let
you take college courses and get college credit while you’re still in high school.
EDGE is a concurrent enrollment program where you can earn college credit and high school credit at the same time. Your school counselor can provide more information about these programs.
