Students planning to transfer into a SUNY baccalaureate program should satisfy the following

  • Thirty (30) credits of general education coursework from the table below

to include

  • courses from at least 7 of the 10 knowledge and skill areas listed below (two of the seven must be Mathematics and Basic Communication).

  • (Exception: Engineering Science students should plan to complete 5 of the 10 areas.)

Special Notes

  1. Although a given course may appear in more than one knowledge and skill area, please note that it can only be used to fulfill one requirement.

  2. Students who have received a grade of 85 or above on the NYS History Regents exam may select from a longer list of courses to fulfill the American History competency than those students who have not taken this exam or whose score is less than 85. It is important to confirm the history regents grade before advising a student to select a history course from this longer list. If the Admissions Office received a high school transcript, you should have a copy in your advising folder and you can confirm the grade on this transcript. You may also call the Admissions Office (315-786-2277).
